Spearfishing Airboat Tours
Let a native Florida captain airboat you and your spearfishing gear to remote South Florida water — far from crowds, close to fish. You bring the equipment and license, we bring the boat, the local knowledge and a safety-first ride.

Spearfishing Airboat Tours: You Bring the Gear, We Bring the Access
Please read first: our spearfishing airboat tours are a transport-and-guide service. Riders must provide their own spearfishing equipment — pole spears, spearguns, masks, fins, wetsuits, dive flags, floats and gear bags. Aces does not rent or supply spearfishing equipment. What we provide is the thing that's hard to get on your own: an airboat and a native captain who can put you on productive, hard-to-reach water quickly and safely.
An airboat changes the game. Instead of a long paddle or a wade through mud, we skim across the shallows and drop you exactly where you want to be, then stand by as your surface support. That means more time in the water and less time slogging to get there. Our captains grew up on these waters and know how depth, season and weather move fish around.
Spearos come to us from across Broward County and southern Palm Beach County — Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Coral Springs, Parkland, Coconut Creek, Tamarac and Boca Raton — launching right off the Sawgrass Expressway and Loxahatchee Rd.
- You bring: all spearfishing gear, your dive flag/float and a valid license.
- We bring: the airboat, a native captain, surface support and local knowledge.
- Remote access to water that's tough to reach any other way.

What to Bring on Your Spearfishing Airboat Tour
Because this is a bring-your-own-equipment trip, showing up prepared makes all the difference. Here's your checklist.
Your Spear Gear
Pole spear or speargun, plus spare bands or tips. All spearfishing equipment is rider-supplied — we do not rent or provide it.
Fishing License
A valid Florida saltwater fishing license (or applicable freshwater license) for the species you're targeting. See the licenses section below.
Sun & Safety Kit
Sunscreen, a hat, water, a small first-aid kit and a knife or line-cutter. The glades sun is no joke.
Dry Bag & Cooler
A dry bag for phones and keys, plus a cooler with ice for anything you legally harvest and keep.

A Safety-First Ride on Every Trip
Spearfishing is a serious in-water activity, and we treat it that way. Your captain acts as surface support — watching your flag, keeping the airboat clear of divers, and staying ready if you need anything. We talk through the plan before you get in the water: entry and exit points, hand signals, dive-buddy expectations and how we'll keep track of you.
We ask that all riders be confident, capable swimmers who are comfortable with their own equipment and freediving within their personal limits. Always dive with a buddy, never push past your training, and keep your dive flag deployed whenever you're in the water. Our job is to get you there, keep an eye out topside, and get you home safe.
- Captain as surface support — flag watch and a steady boat platform.
- Pre-trip safety brief covering signals, buddy diving and limits.
- Dive within your ability — this is guided access, not instruction.
- Confident swimmers only — you should be comfortable freediving on your own.
- Buddy system — dive with a partner and keep your flag up.
- Weather calls — your captain makes the safety call, always.
Florida Spearfishing Licenses & Rules
We run legal, regulation-compliant trips. Knowing the rules before you go keeps everyone safe and the resource healthy.
Spearfishing in Florida is a legal, regulated activity, and it's the rider's responsibility to come compliant. Most spearos need a valid Florida fishing license — saltwater or freshwater depending on where and what you're targeting — available online from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). If you're unsure which license applies to your trip, ask us when you book.
Know Before You Go
Florida law sets rules on where spearfishing is allowed, which species may be taken by spear, size and bag limits, seasons, and the required diver-down flag whenever you're in the water. Certain areas, species and freshwater game fish are off-limits to spearing entirely. We only run trips that follow FWC regulations, and our captains will help you understand what's legal in the water you're fishing. When in doubt, we don't take it — protecting the fishery matters.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide spearfishing equipment?
No. Riders must provide all of their own spearfishing equipment — pole spears or spearguns, masks, fins, wetsuits, dive flags and floats. Aces does not rent or supply spearfishing gear. We provide the airboat transport, a native captain and surface support to get you to and from the water safely.
What is included in a spearfishing airboat tour?
We provide airboat transport to remote, hard-to-reach South Florida water, a native captain who knows the area, hearing protection for the ride and topside surface support while you dive. The spearfishing itself is fully bring-your-own-gear.
Do I need a license to spearfish?
Yes. Most spearos need a valid Florida fishing license (saltwater or freshwater depending on the trip), available from the FWC. Florida also sets rules on legal species, size and bag limits, allowed areas and the required diver-down flag. We only run regulation-compliant trips.
Do I need to be an experienced diver or swimmer?
You should be a confident, capable swimmer who is comfortable freediving with your own equipment within your personal limits. This is guided airboat access with surface support, not a dive course. Always dive with a buddy and keep your flag deployed.
Can non-divers come along on the boat?
Often yes, depending on the trip and boat capacity — friends or family can enjoy the wild Everglades scenery from the airboat. Let us know your full group size when you book so we can match you with the right boat.
Where do spearfishing airboat tours launch?
From any of our three South Florida pickup points: Stub Canal in Tamarac, the Sawgrass Expressway at Atlantic Blvd in Coral Springs/Coconut Creek, or The Landing at 15490 Loxahatchee Rd in Parkland. Pick the closest when you book.
